About Us

The Capelli Team – Maria, Kiri and Jane.We are three experienced hair stylists, mothers, wives, and businesswomen who have teamed up to open Capelli Hair and Beauty. While we each bring different strengths and backgrounds, we share a passion for providing an exceptional client experience by offering quality service in a beautiful environment.Maria Blunden – Maria is a mother to Kyle, as well as well-known locals Ella and Liam. She has a wealth of experience in hairdressing, both as a salon owner and a hands-on stylist. As an experienced salon owner/operator, Maria stays up-to-date with all the latest trends in the industry.Kiri Kohu – Kiri moved to Whangamatā in 2020 to enjoy the wonderful beach lifestyle with her children while they are still young. After nearly four years working in the industry here, she now runs her salon alongside Jane and Maria. Kiri is a mother to 11-year-old twin boys and has over 25 years of hairdressing experience. She enjoys all aspects of hairdressing, especially foiling and color work.Jane Coffey – Jane moved to Whangamatā full-time in 2021. Although she relocated for the lifestyle, her excellent skills as a hairstylist have meant she has been busy with work almost from day one! Jane is a mother of four, a grandmother to seven (so far!), and has over 30 years of experience in the industry. She is skilled in all areas of hairdressing and is passionate about helping people achieve great hair with minimal effort.
